Oh boy. Just went through this thread, and I now share the ultimate uncertainty in my tarp choice as the OP!
There are two rules for success:
1. Never tell everything you know.
Get the doors for the peace of mind... You can always buy a smaller tarp later... But I have yet to see anyone say "man I wish I had less tarp when that big storm came through last night"... Take the weight and cover your butt, and head, and feet, and pack, and half your truck if you need to...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...
Buy, Try, Learn, Repeat

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.
I ordered the materials this past weekend!
I'll post the build and final product once it is delivered and I get the time to inject some thread.

I am so close to being done with my tarp!!! I have tried to take pics along the way, so once I am completely finished, I'll take some final product photos and get'em posted. I just might be able to finish it today after work.
Is it advisable to start a new thread on my build, or just continue with this one? It's really not titled appropriately for a build, but it will show the thought process to build to final results. What do you think?

Just wrap up any loose ends for those researching this matter, I have finished my tarp and have a new thread with a video and pics.
