Wondering: Is there anyone that would want a Ray Jardine Quilt sewn?

I just finished up making a Ray Jardine, Quilt kit. I enjoyed doing it. Well I would like to sew another, however, I do not need another quilt.

Are there any members that have the kit that would want someone to sew it for them. I would be willing to sew it, you buy the kit, ship it to me I will put it together, you pay the shipping to get it back home.

I am not a professional, I just have a 1970's home sewing machine. I am stuck home with a broken foot. I have to stay till for another 3 weeks, I am going crazy, so I want a fun project. My daughter suggested I post this and see if anyone had busy work for me.

I gotta say somebody should take this one up. I bought a Ray Jardine quilt from Dos about a year back and it is fantastic. I love it to death and I've never been cold in it. I sleep full time in the house and didn't have to put the heat on this winter.

I can't vouch for it on my own experience, but I got to manhandle one a fellow backpacker was using this past weekend. For the weight I couldn't believe the rating and it was synthetic. A ground dwelling tarp user was rocking it.

Felt like a quality piece of kit.

I really enjoyed making my quilt, it was fun and easy after I cut the first of the fabric. I am always nervious with the first cut anyway.

I hope someone takes me up on my offer. I am sooo bored, I am not a stay at home person. However the bones in my foot are not going to heal if I do not stop walking on the dumb foot (dumb person to break it), just using the word dumb alot thinking about the foot!

Totally clueless but completely intrigued. Is this intended to be more of a TQ or could it be set up as UQ. What are we talking about for weight and temp rating? I have no DIY skill (that is a complete lie...I'm just too blankin' lazy to do a DIY UQ on my own) and even less time (this is not a lie). Feel free to PM with info if this is not the proper place to discuss.

Ray Jardine is an old time climber, he is very much a one-of-a-kind guy. He is very intellegent, he was one of the early ultra light campers. He made his own equipment for political reasons as much as the fact that such gear was difficult to find and very expensive and did not meet his needs.

I just finished one of his quilt kits, I really like the materials in the kit, the silnylon was very nice, much nicer than what I have purchased from other sources.

I have no idea what my quilt weight is, I fixed it up the way I wanted it. I am short, so it was lighter than it would be for a taller person. I cut it a little narrower, because that is the way I wanted it.

You can look on his web site for any information you might want.

I just wanted a project to keep me busy while my foot heals. I enjoyed making my quilt, so I thought I would help someone else out a little bit, since I do not need a second quilt, so I decided to do this.
