    Smile So... uh... hi?

I've been using this forum for useful information for years now, and it's only recently I decided to join.

Despite a lack of great places to hang nearby, I've definitely caught the bug. I started out with a Trekmates Hammock along with a thick garden furniture tarpaulin when I was younger. As you can imagine, it was hell... or possibly worse. The entire set up looked worse than my Aunt Fanny in her birthday suit.

I'm happy to say it didn't put me off, and since then I've settled on a heavily modded Hennessy Explorer Deluxe with a Hex tarp. The standard Asym just didn't provide enough coverage for the amount of sidewards rain we have around here. Just about everything on my hammock has been changed and improved in some way or another, and it's become a bit of an obsession.

When will it end? I hope it never does... I look forward to sharing some of my ideas and learning lots from the rest of you! =)

    Why thank you!

    P.S.
What do you think of the Monarch Alite chairs? I've always been tempted, but I'd have to have them imported...

Hi! I just bushcrafted an Alite Monarch chair. (Google it) It's fun and uses a lot of hammock concepts. Considering it was my first one, it came out pretty well.

    Welcome!

We'll be the judge of that!
If you've been lurking long then you know the deal 'round here. Pics or it just ain't so. And don't forget your Aunt's Fanny.

PS. Gumbo and I have a pair of Monarch chairs. They rock!!! (Oh man, I crack myself up!)
Shop around and be patient and you'll save ~25%. Or make'em and save ~100%.

Pipsissewa: That looks brilliant! The first version looks remarkably like the the tarp I used in my Aunt Fanny's set up! May well have to try it! =)
