I just purchased my first hammock, a Hennessy Expedition A-Sym (bottom entry). I'm still working on making a suspension system for it so I haven't even strung it up yet, but I'm curious about the tarp/canopy that comes with it.

I'm wondering how many users of this hammock use the small tarp that comes with it? From looking at photos it seems like many, if not most, have upgraded to a larger tarp. Is the reason so many have done so that people just prefer a bigger tarp or because the stock tarp that this model comes doesn't provide adequate coverage in really bad rainstorms?

I own an 8'x10' sil nylon tarp which I'd probably bring with me so that I could have a separate dry/shaded area when I'm not in my hammock, but I'm curious how many of you here rely only on the smaller tarp that the Expedition model comes with and whether you think it provides sufficient protection in big rainstorms when you're sleeping?

Thanks,
- Martin
