this comes up every once in a while... first thing for me is cost... second is weight even the small tent is crazy heavy... would it be awesome to have somewhere SURE!!! but i ain't paying for it... and then there is the age old "how do you find the right trees, the right distance, the right size, alive, big enough to hold that much weight..." thing...
but hey buy one and let me know how it goes
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...
Buy, Try, Learn, Repeat
Brute is right on every point!! But I know how to make one cheaper. Buy a trampoline and a high end tent. Hang the floor of the trampoline between some trees and put your tent on that. Tie it down and you should be fine. (take lots and lots of video.)LOL
Carpe noctem!!
To Mikeinajeep.......love the trampoline idea....
Weight would not be an issue for everyone, but the price is just ludicrous. Not to mention I have gotten a bad impression of the inventor based on some of his grossly blanket statements regarding the product.

That's a pretty wild idea, but I just don't get how that bottom of it has the strength to hold it up once someone gets inside of it. I would think it would sag really far.
Here is a longer video actually showing the inside area.
With the suspension almost horizontal, you know the forces on those straps and trees are huge. Very cool idea, but I'd want to use incredibly stout anchors.

Intent seems to be on a semi-permanent shelter.
Wonder what an UQ would cost! :O
