HG 4 door ground set up?

I'm planning a trip to an area with few trees and would like use my HG 4 door cuben tarp in a ground set up when I have to.

The weather is likely to be windy, wet and cold so I need a set up that can fully close if necessary. Oh and just to complicate it further, I only ever carry one pole.

Has anyone ever tried this or got any suggestions?

Well, you kind of answered it already, if you have a few trees, use one and your hiking pole. Or find a long enough branch laying around, if you have trees, your gong to have branches. If not, then you may have to plan ahead, and bring two hiking poles.....RR

You could set it up with only one pole sort of like the Henry Shire's Contrail looks.

My advise it to practice at home first.

back in the olden days when we only had those canvas or blue poly tarps we'd just stake down all four corners - the two at the (leeward) door just a little closer together, then use a stick or a wooden leg (true story!) in the center to hold up the door (a piece of string tied to a tall rock or stiff bush or a tree works, too - there's always something).
