+ 2 (at least) on the awesomeness of Scott and his friendly competent help.

My first order from him was 19 items in length- it not only arrived intact through USPS, Canada Customs and Canada Post (a feat in itself), it arrived with speed thanks to his itemizing everything on the customs paperwork neatly and legibly - Customs must have just whipped that package through..

More orders to be placed as soon as I finish working with all the stuff sprawled all over my living room..

Now would be a good a time as any to toss in a little update on how things are going here at DIY Gear Supply.

TMI ALERT - TMI ALERT - TMI ALERT

I haven't asked for a sub forum for a couple reasons.

    1. I don't make hammock gear anymore. Well, I do, a lot... I just don't retail it.
    2. I am killing myself trying to keep up with orders as it is. (But by all means, don't let that statement stop you from placing an order, because...)

Because... right now I work full time AND run DIY Gear Supply solo. My full time gig is working as a youth pastor ministering to some of the best kids with some of the worst life situations. I input the orders you place during lunch, get home, spend time with my wife and daughter, then once we put the little one down for bed I get to work filling your orders. Usually that puts me to midnight when I can crawl into bed for the (short) night.

But - we're talking about dropping my hours at the Church to part time, so that I can expand DIY Gear Supply some and be able to spend more time with my family. That's really exciting. And really scary - pretty significant cut in pay there. Any of our fellow cottage industry folks here who have made that transition know the feeling. I'll still be able to minster to my youth but will have a lot more time to get orders out faster, put out more DIY Guides, keep up better on restocking and expanding the product line, and get to spend more time here at HF!

So. Thank you. Thank you so much for your business. Your support. Your comments. I will do my absolute best to keep your gear making addiction well fed with great materials and ideas.
Well, I've loved buying from DIYGearSupply. The one time in dozens of orders that something went askew, Scott fixed it ASAP.

After reading this, I will most definitely be ordering more from Scott.

If M50 and other super light/technical (albeit high cost fabrics) were stocked, Thru-Hiker would get less of my business (although they are great too).

    True dat!

Scott's probably been busy filling orders! Half the stuff made on these forums has Scott's materials in them. I know mine does!

Myself and a friend just finished our under quilts everything came from DIY Gear Supply. Scott rocks. The only thing that held us back was waiting on Scott to get more IX in. When he got it we had it in a few days. Like I said just finished the Under quilt today but we are going to hang out while the nights are still cold to put them to the test.

Just wanted to chime in with my two cents. I placed an order last week to DIYgear and a few days later, I realized I needed to place yet another order. Yesterday, I got an e-mail notifying me that Scott had REFUNDED me $6.00 in shipping cost and combined my two orders, even though they were placed a few days apart. OUTSTANDING!

Scott is a great guy, the hammock that I have been hanging in for the past 3yrs is made from fabric I got from him, also I still have an original winter dream tarp from way back. I will never get rid of that tarp! It has plastic snaps on the doors to close it! I mean why has no one else done this?

Waiting for my order now, but I know Scott (who answered every noob question gracefully), is busy with his new stock and orders.

I can't wait to make my first hammock, whoopies, tarp ties and ridgeline. I ordered from Scott 'cause quite simply he's the best and is recommended by everyone on this site!
