That looks more like graphite to me for some reason.
Looks good though!

Kite spars are called graphite or carbon or carbon graphite.. I check a couple kite supply site to confirm this. I used to do competitive kite building and used these products all the time. Also there is a product called wrapped graphite/carbon which is even lighter. Usually a bit bigger in diameter though. These poles are strong along the length while still allowing for some flex, which is needed in kite building. Carbon graphite is much lighter than fiberglass poles.

Thx all for your comment.
Poles are currently in one piece. Next project is to alter that.
And yes they are cheap in a kite shop. You should get them for max. 10 dollar a meter.

PS
Forgot to say, they almost dont have flex. To make it stronger i put a wodecore in the middle (about 30% of the length). All in all you can make this complete set in 10 min. Although to find all the stuff (that will fit) takes days and some good luck. I was just lucky to find a system to get them inside the hammock. As it is carbon fitting in a plastic casing there will be no wear.

Fascinating and useful too!
Ever thought of working with Brandon to engineer a RR Upgrade for those of us who cannot DIY so well?
