Instead of a tensegrity stand, you might want to consider making a couple of Turtledog stands for the presentation. They would be helpful in presenting hammocks, and also to show folks they can have their own stand with minimal cost and skills. Most folks can look at a Turtledog stand and understand how it works. Tensegrity stands have a more significant "wow" factor, but are more complicated to understand and build (thinking of the audience's skill, not yours). For an intro demo I think the KISS (Keep it simple sweetheart) principle applies.
