My overnight trip to the local mountains on 1/26-27 would have been excellent, were it not for unforeseen trail conditions (VERY deep snow). A 2- mile hike in turned into a 4 hour ordeal for me, post-holing almost all the way. I was really glad I had crampons, but snowshoes would have helped even more.

I was the only hanger; the others had tents. I was pretty beat when I got to camp.

I used the WBBB 1.1 double, a 20-degree Zeppelin from UG, and a Siltarp2. And I still swear by the adjustable webbing straps that came on the BB--they work excellent. I also put together a piece of Zing-it line for the trap ridgeline: I tied a loop on one end so it could be wrapped around the tree like the webbing straps, and held in place by a micro carabiner. The Zing it stays taut.

Temps got down to the low 30s overnight; I checked the temp under my tarp during the night and it was 39. Wind blowing some, and a few snow showers. Other than my toes being cold all night, I was pretty warm. And the hammock is always pleasant to climb into!
