    First time hanger

Hello everyone, As you might can tell I am new to Hammock camping ( First trip, overnight 2/1/2013). I had camped using tents up until I was injured in the military and lost the use of my left arm. I had not been camping in over 8 years. I had heard about hammock camping and was interested and a really good friend offered to let me borrow his rig to try out. I wanted to see if I could setup one handed or maybe with a little help or modification. Let’s just say I have found my long lost friend. I am now looking to get into this a lot more. I trying to look around and get a feel for what might work for me in gear (hammock, tarp, backpack ect). I’m very interested in the War bonnet Blackbird so I think that’s a start. I look forward to learning lots and getting back into camping

Welcome from another hanger in South Carolina.

You should be fast friends with Junebugdawn and ChickenWing, both are in Greenwood and both are not only great people, but veritable fonts of great information.

Hope to see you at one of the group hangs (we try for around once a monthish)!
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Ah, then you have a ready-made resource already in your pocket! She's responsible for the manufacture of my hammock, the Swamp Sling.

Welcome from PA. Thank you for your service. As you come across obstacles post them up here. There are a lot of great people with problem solving abilities.

    DEFINITELY!
Also nice to "meet" a fellow hangin cacher . . . I'm working on a blog which cover both topics, plus some other cool stuff. Check the link below.
