    UQ warmer pocket???

What does the field think about a small pocket at the foot end of an UQ that would hold a hand/toe warmer? Talking like a 3x4 piece of stiched material to just plop one in there. Figure it might help when first getting in and through the night where there is less actual body contact to help warm the down.

And if its a decent idea, where would you put it? Just one in the middle, or maybe two pockets on either side, at about 1/3 and 2/3, in order to account for your feet laying diagonal across the UQ towards one side or the other?

Better ideas? Not looking for a substitute for the hot water bottle thing, just something for folks with cold feet like me.

Actually that's a great idea. I just finished a Klondike with my boy and had a hard time stuffing the hot hands in clothing and keeping it where I wanted. A couple of pockets in my footbox should do the trick nicely.

I used to put them in the hammock with me near the small of the back....kidney warmers. Quit using them once I started down socks to keep my feet warm. Stay much warmer now and don't generate trash to carry out each morning.

Have to agree with Paul on reducing weight and trash to haul out...Best way to keep feet warm is close fitting extra down.... I use my JRB sleeves as sleep socks for dual use.

i have kept these as just in case things... i have used them usually just in between two loosely put on socks... also they have some ones that have some adhesive and are shaped for just your toes... and have some that are as big as insoles... either of those would do the same thing with no modification...

Look at you guys, Mr. Salesmen!??!!

Actually, you're both right on and I've had my eye on both of those products. Really wish I'd got the Flamethrowers when they were on sale last. And I have a Wallcreeper which fits a little tight when I pull my arms in, so the sleeves would be a nice addition. When ya gonna have another sale? Looking at getting a full UQ, too, but I need to sell a few more things to fund it all.

I do hear what you're saying with the trash. But, I'm often leaving camp with a fair amount of trash anyway (see pic) and I have a tendency to sit around camp and let me feet get cold. Hmmm, wonder why that is?

I tried something similar with a nalgene but it was too heavy and pulled quilt away from my torso. Still kept warm when it was calm, as soon as the wind picked up it became chilly
