All these trees...and no place to hang.

Stumbled across this forum and figured I had found exactly what I was looking for. I'm actually stationed in Okinawa right now and, as the title says, even with all this jungle and trees around me, there really aren't many places I can hang a hammock. Either way, I figured I could lurk around here until I get back to the States and be ready to hit some trails.

Welcome to you from Florida, a world away.
Look up Turtlelady stand or Turtledog stand. You don't even need trees to use your hammock. Just have a love of sleeping comfy, cosy.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

    Welcome aboard from PA.

Just be careful, it's easy to catch the addiction bug. I'm an addict... I remember the days when I said I was just going to "lurk around for a bit"...

Welcome to the HFs. There was someone else from over there that was "just lurking". However, he ended up having one mailed over there...

Welcome to the forums Drunkengunner! I was on Okinawa '69-71 at Naha Air Base - My father was stationed there.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

I've actually got my hammock with me. Got a HH a few months back, I just can't seem to find a good place to hang it. There's a lot of trees, but the brush that's around everything out here is so thick!!!

Thick brush, easily hidden. Just clear a small area, hang, and enjoy the privacy, heck you might even want to hide once in a while. Welcome from Georgia.
