And from the SW, Newnan, welcome.
What types of bottom insulation do you guys get away with around here?
Welcome aboard. Like you, I started out with an ENO hammock. Although I now alternate between a WBBB and a Wilderness Logics Lite Owl, the ENO still may be the most comfortable choice. I use the BB and Lite Owl for backpacking because of the greater functionality, including the double-layer construction (which allows the use of a pad and provides additional protection re bugs in the summer). I used a pad until I purchased an UQ this past fall. The UQ is hard to beat in terms of warmth and comfort. That said, I've used a foam pad in North Georgia in temps well below freezing without any problem. Both work well in cold weather. I still carry the pad for summer camping, both because it is very light and because I've not wanted to invest in a summer UQ.
Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.
