Heat Gap on Foot bag of Sniveler Quilt

I did a cold weather hang this past weekend. I use a No Sniveler for my top quilt. In the past when I have used my quilt it hasn't been too cold so I haven't needed to go for the "max warmth". All that to say, I figured out how to use the quilt to make the foot bag with the draw strings and the velcro, VERY COOL! Okay no when I was using the quilt, I notices that no matter how tight I tightened the bottom there was a small hole that leaked some heat. Any ideas on how to stop that heat loss?

you can bundle the end of the bag and use the excess cord to tie around the end, it'll seal it off completely. you'll lose about an inch on length of that matters. otherwise stick a sock in the hole.

What he said, just wrap it around the end. Don't forget to tie a bowknot in those ties, the velcro will unfasten if you don't. I LUV my No Sniveler.

If it's that cold that that little hole is much of an issue, I'm usually below the comfort range of the quilt. If it bothers you, stick a sock in it!!
    Peace,

Why not just take an extra sock and stick it in the hole before you cinch it tight.

I tend to wrap in feet in my jacket in really cold weather. Helps with any drafts at the feet.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".

"Hog tie" the foot end with the extra cord like previously suggested or cinch the stuff sack in the hole.

In a 12* test I was toasty all night with BMBH a TRProlight 4 pad and NSuq and RMtq with 2 fleece hats and 2 layers top and bottom.

Had my wife lay in it the next morning to fine tune the uq drawstrings and found the foot end was a little looser than I thought. For those that posted about cold legs that do not use a pad I would highly suggest a second person to check for gaps.

Yes. We are a crazy lot.

Yes, an available person for testing adjustments on all of these systems would be a blessing, and provide extremely useful info.

Ashman - I do exactly as the others...just wrap the extra cord around the hole and cinch it tight with a bow knot.

Compass - Welcome out of lurking!

BB - That'll be the nice thing about Mt Rogers. No one will really look at you funny if you say, "Will you check my gap?" Unless you ask too many times...
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story
