    Biner and Ring Buckle

It appears that attaching the ring buckles to the hammock is mostly done with cordage. My ENO has biners (replaced factory w/ better) and I plan on using the "web and ring" set up to hang it. Can I simply clip rings onto the biners?? Or do the rings need to tied together for a more secure set up?

Definitely you need to have the rings tied together...This holds one edge down as sort of a hinge. Prusik knot is excellent for this.

Assuming those biners are close to the hammock, what you might do to avoid hacking the existing setup is to make a loop of strong cord and prusik it onto a pair of rings. Clip the loop onto the biner. Bingo! Rings on suspension, ready for webbing.

Of course, depending on your comfort level you could just swap out the existing suspension, put on a bit of cord with the rings attached, and be done with it.

I unclipped the biners and tied a length of cord to the loop the biners where attached to. I now use the biners to attach my webbing around the trees. Here are links to a couple pics if it helps.

What kind of knot did you use to attach the rings to the rope?

    Rock Rat,

What kind of knot did you use to attach the rings to the rope? How did you get 3 wraps of rope around the rings and the rope?
