Hello all! I've been a lurker of the non-stalker variety, but I finally found the courage to join and mingle.
I've been a lonely hammock-enthusiast for approximately six years when I first saw a parachute silk hammock. I bought a hammaka double quickly thereafter and hitched it in my dorm room for a couple years (man was it weird sleeping in a bed after that!)
I was between CO/NM at the time, so my 2.5'' webbing and my hammock were sufficient and I used a fleece to counter underbreeze.
Now that I'm a Oregon local, I've had to pick up my game. I've made a few different hammocks, ordered a maccat, and I just switched to ENO slaps.
I've been experimenting with different insulation types--foam, therma rest, yoga mats--but I digress...
I'm glad to be among your ranks! I'll soon enough be badgering you all for advice.
Frances
