    Third Annual Oregon Summer Hang!

    OK....here's the skinny:

    THIRD ANNUAL OREGON SUMMER HANG!!

    Where?
Portland area this year...TBD. Last summer we had a car camp, so how about a short hike (3-4 miles?) this year? Any ideas?

    When?
    August 9, 10 11, 2013.

    Who?
Everyone is invited. The more the merrier, I say Bring the kids! Bring the Grandparents! Bring the dogs! Bring the dog's grandparents...whatever!

Will there be a raffle like last year?
Yes, I am already hard at work on it. Same as last year, I am not announcing what the prizes are until the hang starts, only the companies donating. I can say that, as of right now, we have 3 companies committed to donating prizes.... and they are GOOD ONES I will add the names of the companies/individuals in a later post.

Will the prices of the raffle tickets be the same as last year, and can I buy as many as I like this year?
Yes and no. Yes, the ticket prices will be the same as last year ($20.00 per person), and no, you cannot buy more than one ticket per person. Also, you must be present to win. Tickets will go on sale at the as yet to be specified camping location on August 9 at 6 pm. Raffle to be held on August 10 at 5pm. Last year we raised over $300.00 for Wounded Warriors, so this year we should DOUBLE that amount.

Hey, Bigfoot....what's the charity this year?
Boy Scouts Of America! I am hoping to get a local troop picked soon and am also hoping that they show up at the hang!

Hey, Bigfoot...can I bring my booze with me?
Sure, if you drink responsibly and do not make a fool of yourself. All state and federal liquor rules apply. Drive responsibly and remember...this is a FAMILY EVENT.

How about some event volunteers? Whoopie sling making classes? How to make pop can alcohol stoves? Zombie fighting 101? Any ideas?

So.....who's all coming to this little swaray?
Rip Waverly...you out there? T-shirts are needed again, my friend

I'm a tentative "yes" at this point...planning a trip to Glacier NP for August. Now that I know the dates for the hang that will help in my planning!

There isn't many options that could hold a group of our size. There mostly car camping spots that fill up in a hurry and get crowded. So unless you could basically get enough people to completed take over a campground on Thursday it would be hard to pull off.

Only other option would be Browns Camp but that time of year it would be crazy do to all the offroaders. It would make the winter hangs snow mobile's seem quiet.

Looking forward to making my way south this summer for a group hang or two. I am a definite "maybe" at this point. about a 9 hour drive to Portland from here, but for 3 days it would be worth it

Beautiful area up there, though. I used to go there quite a bit when I lived in Portland.
