Go with something that has a 12' ridgeline.

Thanks Bubba. I was thinking about that size. Where can someone find a tarp that big? The biggest I have found is 11'. I think I would like a cuben,

If it is your first hammock, you should probably go sil instead of cuben, just so you don't break the bank before you know if this is for you or not. Hanging a hammock and tarp takes some practice, and catastrophes do sometimes happen. On the other hand, cuben is remarkably light.

your 11' hammock will have some sag, eh? I'd think something like a kelty noahs 9 set up "diamond" would cover you and you could get a feel for how you want to set up. I have a kelty noahs 12 and there's enough tarp there to close off the ends around my WBBB. I have a lighter and more packable tadpole but the keltys are a good value that even when you move on to something else, you'll want to use now and again.

I've used blue poly tarps from Walmart for decades and will continue until money floats down from heaven for a cuben one. Now I have a 12x10 poly and that is a really nice size.

I want something lite as I will be hiking with this setup. That is why cuben comes int the equation. MDSH you scripture says that if I dont have a sword to sell my coat and buy one. "buy one" does that mean I should go ahead and buy a cuben tarp. Is this a sign from heaven that I should place my order?

Underground Quilts and Wilderness Logics make good silnylon tarps that offer tarps with 144" RL's

i use a 12' hammock with an 11' tarp with no problem. an 11' hammock only has a 9.5' ridge line. if you get too big of a tarp it makes putting it in storm mood difficult. just my opinion.
