Just picket up another dri ducks poncho to go with the one I have and 3 of the emergency ponchos. I'll see what takes form.
Ok. After renewed interest from following lostbiker's goretex sock. I have finally planned my driduck sock. Its nothing special just a Fronkey bugnet made of 2 Driduck ponchos and some silnylon.

I plan on adding a flap to the bottom made of a Driduck emergency poncho. Tucked in the cinched opening, it will act as a door/ UQ protector.
I'll see how much venting is needed. I'd rather keep it simple at first and add more complex vents as needed. I also see winter coming up. Using it as a winter sock and weather protection would be a better use. I know I don't like fiddling much with tarps in the cold.
Got the sock done last night. Took some pictures of it this morning. I slept comfortably from about 1:15am to-9:30am. I got some condensation inside the top of silnylon end caps. But they were not near me or my quilts. It was 50° when I went to bed. When I woke up the outside temp was 65° and inside it was 82°. I could tell that a big part of that temperature difference was from the greenhouse effect. I will try to get temperature readings throughout the night next time to see how much the sock warms up without the sun beating down on it.
Enjoy the pics!
Could you do the venting thru the top kind of like a TED bugnet design or like roofs on houses now days where it has an overhang at the very top to vent the attic? Here is a link to the TED design bugnet:

Maybe put NoSeeUm netting on the top and then a flap ridge over that somehow, maybe Velcro at several spots down the ridge to keep it from moving but the open areas could vent?
I was thinking of doing something like that. Was thinking about sewing a small "awning" type flap along the length of one side that I can stake out. I really like hang n out's design in that you can stake out the one side for venting.
Tested it last night, after an hour the inside temp only raised 5°. I fell asleep. In the morning after sun up, the greenhouse effect raised the inside temperature by 10° over outside temp. I experienced slight rain this morning. I need to seam seal the top seam and the hood patches.
I think I need to set alarms to I can check temps midway through the night. I work 2nd shift and so I don't get to sleep until around 12-1am and sleep into the morning hours. Making the min/max function on my thermometer record the min as the time I reset it when getting in the hammock and the max whatever the inside and outside temp is in the morning.
