I'm looking for about 4 yards of 1.1 (or so) ripstop for a "LOUD" hammock. If anyone has some they want to get rid of, let me know.
Thanks,
Caveman

"HANGING OUT" has taken on a whole NEW MEANING
Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics has an orange (looks a little dimmer than "Blaze", but it's still pretty bright) 1.9 oz/sq yd ripstop in stock for $5.38/running yard before shipping (look under the "Ripstop Breathable" tab). I've found their listed weights to be accurate, and their customer service is wonderful.
Hope it helps!

There's a Joanns not too far from me. I would prefer something lighter, but I may have to settle. I'll keep looking around.

...ZQ here...The 1.9 at JoAnn's isn't a very soft nylon. The 1.9 at Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics is a much softer fabric...it feels lighter. The JoAnn 1.9 has a bit of a crunchy feeling.

I made a very large "don't shoot me" hammock sock in blaze orange poly fabric (not ripstop) but it should hold for a hammock. Got the fabric at WMT. Was also pretty cheap at around $2.00/yd in 60" width.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to keep looking. I really want something lighter than 1.9.

Anybody around you sell hot air balloons? They might be a source. Ditto serious kite shops.
YMMV
