Question Help with Adjustable RL for HH Exped

Maybe I will get better results in this forum, rather than the Hennessy forum. I would like to install an ARL into my HH Exped. I know how to get the thing in there, just don't know an overall length for the amsteel. How much amsteel is required to make one of these? How long should the constrictor be? I have 100' or so, I think it should be plenty to make some continuous loops on either end for pulling myself up in the hammock as well. Feedback greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely .. SnideTripod

There's a nice spreadsheet that can be found in http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=29803

There's a sheet in it for whoopie slings, but also one for an ARL.

It's actually pretty simple, I just don't think anyone saw it for whatever reason. My personal opinion is make a whoopie, but for the free end(the part you pull to tighten/shorten) don't make a bury and cut to about 1ft extra (dangling) Amsteel. Since the rl length is 83" at 83%, roughly 20ft of Amsteel is required for an arl. If you want absolutely no waste start with your 100' Amsteel and cut to size.

Be extremely careful with an arl on a hammock with an integrated bugnet though. The last thing you want to do is damage the netting.
