A day of winter sun

Had a couple of real sunny days recently and got out for some snowshoeing,fire and lazing in the hammock.
Snowshoed down to the river bank.

Something about sun on water, snow and rocks just feels good.

Camp for the day. Allot of the snow has been melting away what with the warm weather we have been having. The sun was just pouring into the river bank area and it must have been +5/40F. felt so warm it felt like spring.

Snow melting on moss in the sun just made things feel like spring all the more.

I hung out, made a fire from Birch Bark tinder and some local cedar ,,made tea and then it was time for a nap. It felt warm enough that i didn't even have my anorak on , just a base layer and my woolpower zip 400. (-:
Hard to deny the great warmth of the sun.

I love snowy winter scenes!

Really enjoyed looking at this as I sit on my front porch, basking in sunshine at 80*F, blue sky with one puffy white cloud in the distance and a tropical breeze blowing.... Well, somebody's got to live in Florida!

Sometimes i find it hard to imagine that somewhere's else on this continent someone's getting a sunburn.

That beard gets very wet on overnights,,sometimes with ice,,,otherwise its me.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I went to a very busy place last summer. It was interesting but i couldn't wait to get out and get home. I'm not sure how many years this area has before the masses come.
