Colorado > Front Range > April 5th-7th > Early Spring Hang Planning Thread

    April 5th thru the 7th.

I'm hoping to get out one more time before all the snow goes away to test out some gear/ideas. I like the idea of Kenosha Pass and a hike Sat/Sat night to the "O-n-B" South Park Overlook for a change in venue for the second night hang though I may need to rent some snowshoes.

I've put the dates in my calendar and hope there are others who can make it. I'm not firm on Kenosha Pass though I'm interested in a short hike Saturday to a new hang location.

Who's in? What location suggestions do you have?
Where ever you go, there you are?

I should be able to make a hang the 1st weekend in April.
Being 2 months away it's always hard for me completely commit this early.

Since we just did an official group hang at Kenosha I'd prefer some place new with a
    view.

That said I am always up for a short notice overniter to Kenosha.
From the West parking lot hike up to the overlook, spend the nite and
explore the following day then hike out.

No car camping. I think the effort it took to get unstuck from the snow drift, setup
the car camp and then a very bad nights sleep do to the wind is what zapped my
energy this last trip. I didn't feel like hiking anywhere.

rhinoman, I have a spare set of MSR snowshoes and poles you are welcome to borrow anytime.

I'm not very confident I'll still be living in Colorado in April, but if I am, I'd love to join up on this one. Sad to have missed the Winter hang.

It's still blocked out on my calendar though there hasn't been any location planning done. I'm still in for a Fri night trailhead hang and a "stroll" before a Sat night hang "up the trail" aways. Guess we should start talking about the "where" bit soon.

    Well...

I guess I knew it could happen and it has. We've (http://www.uniongray.com) scheduled a gig in Colorado Springs for the weekend I'd originally scheduled this trip (April 5-7). Can anyone make April 19-21.

    <sigh>
