    Fabric from Wally world today...

Okay, so I picked up what I think is nylon fabric 4yds of grey and some white (I tried several times to verify it with the people from wally world but, noone was around and the good ol' boy that helped me, and made it known that he knew about as much as I did about the fabrics) today. I've been doing a pretty good bit of research here lately and i'm hoping I made a good eye-ball judgement on picking the correct fabric. If not, it'll make some stuff sacks and let my youngest make something out of the rest that I don't use...

Wal Mart corporate realized they shot themselves in the foot and reversed the decision to remove fabrics. So lots of Wal Marts are now fabric sources again. However, like before don't expect any kind of sophisticated assistance from the clerks in the departments. They get what they get when they get it pre-labeled and all. The only thing the staff has to do is put the shipments on the shelf. Occasionally you'lll get a fabric clerk who knows something about sewing and fabrics but in my experience those are the exception.

Hammocks do not require any specific fabric so as long as it will hold you up it should be fine. At worst it will have a DWR coating and might give you some condensation issues but there are ways around that. Have fun....
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Taselite, a polyester fabric is good to work with. WMT has the ACU digital camo at about $2/yd for a 56" wide bolt.

My knock around hammock is made from polyester material that looks like it would make a good dress shirt. It was only .50 per yard and it holds my 320 lbs just fine.
