    indoor hang

In the extra bedroom......I covered up the baseboard heater with a plywood cover, and leave the window about 1/2 open at night. A towel keeps most of the cold from getting into the rest of the house. This makes my HHSS with full winter DIY down TQ and UQ usable indoors. A 3/8" eyebolt placed perfectly in the center of a wall stud on each wall, which is 10'-6" apart is plenty strong enough to support the hammock. Oh, and the heat is turned down to 60. but only at night. Never slept better, except out doors.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.

I use a poncho liner underquilt and tq combo indoors, but my place stays a roasting 77f for the missus. I find myself venting a lot but I feel a little closer to camping if I'm sandwiched in nylon.

Since my cellar is always in the mid 60 degree range, I use my 3 season under quilt and a 40 degree sleeping bag for my top quilt. I tried to use my Owyhee TQ but began getting just a little to hot. I generate a lot of heat when I sleep.

I have a old cheapy sleeping bag uq/peapod style and a sheet as a tq. My wife would kill me if a turned down the heat, so I play with anything to warm.

I only nap in mine but I use a CCF pad and my 15F sleeping bag. I wouldn't last all night without overheating, but it's perfect for a quick 30 minute nap. Overheating acts as my alarm clock.

Most of the time, we sleep in big ole cotton Brazilian hammocks at home. I often switch-out for a Mayan when the heat rolls in; I nap exclusively in Mayans when it's hot out.

On the Brazilians, due to the heavy cotton fabric, you don't need much in terms of insulation below you. One of those cheap microfiber blankets from Walmart works just fine. But, you will want 'something' under you. I have a DIY summer-weight underquilt on my Brazilian.

On top, just plain old blankets. The Brazilians are large enough that the blankets don't spill over the edges of the hammock like they do in many of the camping hammocks.
