Long time dream for me. I am doing a long hike this summer and live vicariously through my brothers and sisters who are doing it!

Ain't it though! It took quite a few years for me to not feel like a thru hiker just taking a little break. Every piece of gear I looked at was judged by how it would work out on my thru hike(?). Now days I do shorter and shorter trips, more campouts and don't feel like a thru hiker just taking a little break.

Yep, I just went on a 2 night hike and spent 20 minutes 'auditing' my pack before I realized I was being a dumba#@. I threw in a couple of paperbacks just to punish myself for being silly.

I'm sticking with the "just taking a break" line while I'm planning my resupplies for the next adventure. As soon as someone makes me wear a tie again, I'm gone!

    Come on then, let's go!

Thinking of these last couple of months that I've been home as a town stop are what keeps me sane. I still wear my hiking clothes daily, and even after many washes my mom says she can still smell them.
