Ok what about meeting at overlook trail head and headquarters... Near mile marker 24... Then camping Friday at camp C/cedar hollow... Which is 6 miles +/-...

Saturday staying at G which is Russell park trail head near mile marker 15...

Then its just 9 miles out on Sunday?

    Or do that in reverse?

Just looked at the lake on Google earth. Both areas designated as "camps" on the map aren't campsites in the State Park sense with fire rings and picnic tables, so I'm guessing there's no need for reservations.

Hanging opportunities at the first campsite look excellent with a big stand of trees on a hill overlooking the lake. I'd be willing to bet that any ground dwellers will be wanting to camp closer to lakeside, so we'd likely have it to ourselves. The question would be what kind of trees they are, mesquite or post oak?

Walnut Springs looks like a more open area with little elevation, but there are trees back away from the water to the north.

He's out there buying square miles of blaze orange fabric and wearing a kilt. We'd probably want to station him somewhere to be the sacrificial hanger.

The shorter hike out on Sunday would likely work best for everybody.

Corps of engineers said that there was fire rings at all the sites on their fully automated, we don't have any humans that work here, phone line...

In the link at the top there is a guy who hiked it out of Austin, he was a hammocker and said cedar hollow was nice enough for hammockers... But walnut wasn't real great...
