I also use shockcord .....I connect them to the tieout rings with Dutch's quilt clip....http://www.outdoortrailgear.com/feat...quilt-hangers/

Nice and light and unsnaps easily.

You could use the Velcro, but it would be difficult to get a low pitch in bad weather, and you would have to pitch it perfect to get the doors to line up. If you have the SF, just go set it up for different situations. Move it up for great weather, then try lowering it for winter/bad weather. You can then see how the doors line up. ........RR

Very good points. I use shock cord and find that I can easily overlap the doors slightly to close them off.

I have the Winter Dream, and I love the velcro on my doors. Pitching it perfectly so the doors line up is as simple as velcroing the doors together and then pitching the tarp. It does make it nice to have the doors attached to each other and pull them out to make a larger space inside for gear and such...I haven't regretting the velcro yet but who knows. When I sewed on my velcro I oriented it so that one end is easy to put together from the inside and one end is easy to put together from the outside (outside of both flaps vs. inside of both flaps, IIRC). There are a couple of pictures of mine on my profile.
