Thanks Randy, I've been wondering about a binding foot.... but then I like gadgetry!

Part of the problem is gros grain is usually made for flat application like straps or a decorative edging. It was not really intended for binding. It is woven to keep it straight and flat. That does not mean it can not be folded. I, personally have never had much luck with it for things like tarp binding. I've given up using it. What ever works...
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

This attachment can add years to your life if you edge bind with grosgain very often. It's not very expensive and well worth it. I use one very similar. For one project you can get by with folding, ironing, etc, but grosgrain likes to be flat. For two or more projects a binding attachment is worth investing in.
Get some Clover Wonder Clips they work awesome and are a lot easier than pinning.
Wow, that is a neat piece of gadgetry there. I am weary though as I don't see my sewing machine (Hobby 741) listed as compatible. Do you know what size screw that is by any chance?
I like the quilt clip idea too. If this really cool gadget turns out to not fit my sewing machine, I think I am going to iron the grosgain then use the quilt clips to clip it on.
Excellent excellent advice, I am so happy I asked! Thank you!

Most new "inexpensive" machines will have one hole or no holes instead of the two needed. The older good quality machines frequently recommended here typically have the two holes.
They have them at their ebay store. The price appears higher but shipping is included.
