Ishpatina Ridge (Highest Point in Ontario Canada)

Anyone in Ontario Canada that is into backpack camping, this is something for you.

I have a thread on another forum (Northern Ontario Geocachers) with tons of information, photos, maps and other resources regarding the trip up to Ishpatina Ridge (former fire tower and highest point in Ontario).

The thread can be found here: http://forum.northernontariogeocache...php?f=12&t=487

I will port some of the info over if required, but there is a lot.

It should be noted that when that thread was first written, the trip by land was pretty tough and my kind of trip. Since that trip up, the trail has gotten pretty easy and it's now a trip I'd take my 4yrs old on (He's pretty hardcore).

There is a guide company out of Sudbury that does the trip to Ishpatina Ridge in winter.

    Cheers

I've seen their youtube videos. Looks like they hike in just north of the water shed.
If I was going up in the winter, I would just take a sled from Capreol. Unfortunately, I don't have much winter camping gear.

Ishpatina Ridge became a bit of a tourist trap shortly after my first trip up.
It went from a cool outdoor adventure trip to a boring hike in, good for city folks type of trip.
