+1. My immediate thought when I saw the trimmed down version. I'd lose it
in a heart beat if not attached....I tie my toggles to the tree strap for that very reason.

I like the potential of this idea over the tri-glide style too, for the ease of adjustability.

Im gonna make some today, Ill find away to make them "unloseable" lol...

As Wanderlust78 already pointed out, this is essentially a cinch buckle.

Has anyone tried using the cinch buckles we commonly see here, such as the Dutchware Cinch Buckle, in this application?

If a cinch buckle works as the marlin spike knot device (maybe with a loop tightener to prevent the loop from falling off) wouldn't that be one of the lightest webbing-based suspensions yet?

Surely someone here as already tried this. Please let me know because I have this Dutchware order in mind that's burning a hole in my pocket.

Thanks, still working some kinks out. I would like to find an alternative to the arrow shaft. Seems to me it could be small in diameter and still do the same thing.. I have some Galvized nails I was thinking about trying, I have to see if there is any weight savings though. My hole goal here is to create something light, and simple..

Everyone is trying to build a better mouse trap and good for you for the work you've put into your idea. You summed it up correctly, "Something light and simple"

So many great ideas, yet not one yet that seems to be perfect. I keep trying different methods, and always find a kink that for some reason I look for the next method.

I look forward to what you come up with in the future.

Neat idea

For those with stiff Dutch buckles, I filed and sanded the slots on my DBs, the webbing slides through much easier now and feeding the end back through still locks them off fine.

I have a few good Ideas just need to test them out yet.. The whoopie sling is about as best as you can get as far as bulk goes. However I think the tree strap can be revisted and possible eliminate some bulk there. This thing I came up with was to give an option for not haveing to tie a MSH, plus offer some adjustment..

Im going to try this idea on a smaller scale.. I was tinkering around with my tarp set up, and I could see the use for something like this on the ridge line.. Ill get some pics up if its sucsessfull... Has anyone else had a chance to try this out? im intrested in some feed back.
