I've gotten some condensation inside the tarp, but nothing like what you're describing. If I had, I'd probably still be using a Hennessy just because of the bottom entry. I loathe wet sleeping clothing.

Your thought about body heat having a positive effect is interesting. I wouldn't think it would be enough in a large ventilated area to have any real impact, but who knows? I would think the bugnetting would trap most of that heat and release it slowly.

Maybe you just need to re-sod the bog.
    Trust nobody!

I guess I didn't get wet enough to hurt anything- I have a PG jacket with a WPB shell ( Pertex Endurance ), but not only did I cause it to snow into my hammock ( a BMBH with MWUQ), but I'm sure I carried a bit of frost into the hammock on my back and head. Worked out OK anyway at 16*F. BTW, for the 2nd time now, the UQ was also covered in frost. Not a very encouraging start to the night!

Yeah, just a WAG, grasping at straws- IOW, I have no idea. There was no net.

Am I the only person here who gets a lot of condensation sometimes?

But then I couldn't say to folks: " Hey, look where I can sleep warm and comfy! Why don't you pitch your tent or tarp/groundcloth beside me and lets camp out some cold wet night!
