I camped there (Medicine Bow Nat Forest) many, many, many moons ago. So long in fact that the only things I can remember are:

    1. The chipmunks had no fear and seemed to enjoy unpacking my food/cooking boxes
    2. The area was beautiful
    3. Camp fees were on the honor system
    4. In July, any low lying, moist areas are breeding grounds for swarms of mosquitoes - and I do mean SWARMS

    Seconded

I would also like info on this area, as I'll be moving to near there in May. Anyone been there?

All of my WY hanging trips - and most od any kind of WY trips but not all - have been in the Wind River Mountains a bit north west of MBNF. But my first ever trip to WY was way years ago when I lived in CO. I think we couldn't get a camp site in RMNP maybe on July 4th weekend so we just kept driving. Saw an interesting green spot on the map and headed for it and camped. I remember beautiful rugged peaks. I just remember thinking it was real beautiful, but the fine details of memory are fairly dim.

Now if you want details on the Winds, that I can do!

I'll probably take you up on that in a couple of months. I figure I'll be heading out there with some regularity

Im heading into the Medicine Bow this Friday.. I plan to hike a few miles into the Labonte Creek Canyon and do some fly fishing/photographing ect... I'm going in mostly blind as I have never been.. I will learn as much as I can in a short period of time. Hopefully I will be able to post some photos next week..
