    Joshua Tree plus Coachella

    All,
I am from Michigan but wanted to get this thread going here.
Has anyone done a 2-3 day trip in Joshua?
I'm trying to set up a week in April, backpacking Tue-Wed-Thur in Joshua and then the Coachella festival Fri-Sat-Sun.

Any advice on best views / backcountry trails in Joshua is appreciated. And anyone interested in joining this kind of trip, hit me back.

    Thanks all

You will have to load up on water lots of it. NO H2O inside the park.

Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

last year i hiked from joshua tree south to desert hot springs. ditto on the water...and no trees to use for hanging ( there are joshua trees in the northern part & one or two plam groves too- no doubt the rangers will have a dim view of they'r use), but deeper inside of the park you'll have to use rock faces.stop early- it takes quite a while to find something suitable to hang from and rig up( i took about 100' of mule tape...it turned out to be a god send!)...i was just over night and did this mid week...i saw no one while in the park. if you'd like to hear more about my boring explorations there...i'd be glad to

yeah, don't let the rangers catch you hanging on the j-trees, i'm sure you could do so without causing harm, but they still wouldn't like it. Pretty cool place if you like rock formations. i spent a couple weeks there once, had a hammock with me but slept in my truck every night.

Coachella would be the April 19 weekend. And I think from hearing other users I will plan a trip to Big Bear as opposed to Joshua. Just makes sense after hearing about water and the inability to hang from the Joshuas.

    Thanks
