Hammock or Hammick?

I know this sounds quite trivial, but I am simply wondering how you pronounce hammock? Perhaps it depends on where you live; I grew up saying "hammick" but recently I ran into someone convinced it was "hammock." The later would make sense, just probing your thoughts.
