We hiked the West Rim Trail 3 weeks ago and camped the first night at the campsites near the Bradley Wells picnic are. We had a large bear come into our camp. He was not shy at all and it took us 20 or so minutes to convince him we didn't want his company. Is that where you were? If so, it may have been him. (He came back during the night. I called a ranger when we got home. He said he would go talk to him.[AIMG]20170925_174127.jpg[/AIMG])

If theres reason enough for him not to wanna be there, there's reason enough for me to not want to be either.
For some reason that story sent a chill down my spine. Scary creepy.

I always trusted my dogs. If they did not like someone, I stayed far far away.

    Yup. Good advice.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Coming into camp in the moonless dark of night and saw 6 or 8 glowing green circles about four feet off the ground and 30 or so feet away. The green dots remained motionless even as I got closer. Suddenly the floating orbs moved accompanied by a couple loud snorts and stomps. My heart skipped a beat. I'd startled a small herd of deer who had awoken from their "deer in headlights" trance. Didn't know deer eyes glowed green in the light of an LED headlamp! In the daylight I wouldn't have given a couple of deer a second thought. But in the claustrophobic darkness of night it was a whole different story.

I'd have to say when the rabbid, beady eyed, razor toothed, blood lusting, evil hell beast Raccoon tried to eat my XLC and my face. But then again, that's just a normal night out for me it seems lol. So a heads up if your going to the NOVA hang next month, you might not wanna hang so close so my bad juju doesn't effect you as well lol. I'd hate for the tree that's meant to fall just on me to hit someone else as well !!!

I don't trust my dogs judgement. After all, he does like me!

Probably the night we heard a fox or some such animal hunting while we were tent camping. That blood curdling screech is awful! Then one of the first nights my daughter and I were hanging out back it happened again right here. Fox screamed from one corner of the property and stopped right in between us. My daughter slept through the whole thing!!! Me and that fox have a love hate relationship now. It loves to wake me up in the middle of the night because it hates that we hang in it's flight path! I just yell at it.

The potentially scariest most recent event was just three nights ago when I was sleeping out back. It was windy and rainy but all was good in my WBBBXLC until things quieted down and I heard the swish swish of leaves from an animal right under me! Instead of yelling at the fox, as it had never been that close, I played it safe and very quietly peeked out the screen of my hammock and saw right below me A WHITE STRIPE!!!! (and it wasn't a White Stripes band member either!) Well I quietly decided to retreat my eyeballs back to sleeping position and Mr Skunk waddled off none the wiser! PHEW!!!! That could have ended BAD!!!
