Jerry and HomeMadeHiker, I acually have some cool stuff for the raffle this year. It's sometimes hard to come up with a good thing to share, but I have a suggestion for you guys. List some items that are suitable and set range for the value. Do you think that would be good or perhaps it's not needed. I have talked to some, and I am one of them, that feels uneasy about the raffle. One time I worked a long time making something that was really cool and would have cost a pretty penny if you bought it from Backpacking Light, but I don't think the guy who got it even knew what it was, so it was a bad choice on my part. Just saying......

Got the list covered but feel free to add to it as my knowledge of previous years is limited.
To address your other concern, my thought was that the white elephant style would allow folks to choose specific items of interest (and hopefully knowledge). The choice element seemed to work OK last year.
I've been working the last few days on some pretty neat (to me atleast) stuff as well, with hopes of it going home with a happy new owner.
Bad news. My car is taking a turn for the worse. I believe a sensor is off or out causing me to suck down gas much quicker than normal. I have to make the app tomorrow to see what's the matter. Wish me luck hope its nothing to expensive or my trip is out the window.
Good luck butters. We'd love to have you there.
I have Wed. thru Saturday off, so I should be able to meet up on Thursday for those going a day early. I'm working on eliminating 3+pounds of gear, but upping the food quality...so I can eat steak Mule style. It will be good to meet new folks and chat with the repeats of the hang. Plus, looking forward to some extended sleep in the hammock. Ear plugs are a beautiful thing!
I am hoping to get there Thursday.

Is this still set for the 12th-14th? I am going to try make it if I can get a bug net put together by then. Looking forward to learning a lot.
Well its a 180 dollar part. Even having my own mechanic, that was my trip cash. Looks like I'm hanging in my woods instead. I'm really bummed out that I'm not going to be meeting you all. I was really hoping to learn slot in person about hammock UQ and see some DIY stuff in person.
Maybe I can rig up a good spot in the woods for a bunch of hammocks and host a hang. Or plan a trip around here sometime. Plenty of trails with in 30 minutes of me to hike or camp.
I wish you all the best and safe trip.
