Looks like tax weekend will be April 12 thru the 14th, and of course some come on Thursday before. Now,
Would you like to keep it in Brown Hollow and Browning Hill or would you like something new? I wish I could do a pole here but it's too late. The place I am thinking of is the hike to Panther Branch.
Parking is always an issue, so we would park at Crooked Creek Lake and also at the trailhead 1 mile beyond the lake. Whenever the trailhead parking lot gets full we could then start using the Crooked Creek Lake for parking. Lots of room there, BUT, those parking at the lake would be either:
    1. Walking up the road to the trailhead which is the Tecumseh trail, well marked to Panther Creek, or
    2. head up the trail from the launch at the lake to Miller Ridge and then make it to Panther Branch/Creek from there. I think it would be an extra couple of miles that way and no marked trails.
Please express your sentiments, complaints, irritations and reservations!!!

    Photos of panther creek

The Panther Branch and Creek are beautiful for the whole mile starting at the end of the Tecumseh to the lake. But one hard hike over the next ridge and you are in Hayes Branch with a similar creed if we wanted to go there the next day. The trails are not marked well from panther creek to hayes creek but it's just a ridge over.
Panther Creek marks the end of the Tecumseh Trail for the time being.
And again, I have no problem going back to Brown Hollow and Browning Hill either. I never get tired of them.
Here are some photos and along with it it one of the last pencil drawings I have been working on, just to show off a bit.

We usually hike a couple miles in and camp then if everyone wants to stay we stay or if everyone wants to move on to the next site, a couple of miles further then we do. It's a group decision, but the hiking is not hard. If it is rainy like it has been the last two years we stayed in Brown Hollow, but if it's nice weather, we probably will choose to move in the morning.
