    UQ Suspension Help

    Hi all,

I recently completed my underquilts.com full length quilt, but I need some assistance in figuring out how to suspend it properly.

The UQ has four channels, two running the length of the UQ and two running the width. I have shock cord run through all 4 channels, with cord locks on the shorter (width) set to allow me to pull the ends of the quilt together.

The issue I'm having is that when hung, the quilt doesn't remain taut, but instead slides down the longer cord to sag nearer the bottom, resulting in a shorter quilt overall.

Can any one provide advice on how to properly hang a UQ such as this?

You should probably add an adjustable length of cord from the ends of each side to the head of the hammock. Triangle thingies will help too.
Take a look at Leighlo's or Underground Quilts rigs. Easy for me to adjust for the diagonal lay that way.

I believe Lost_Biker has some information on the underquilts.com website. Might be worth a look.
