Has Hennessy changed they way they wrap the hammock ends?

I went to add whoopie slings to my Hennessy Expedition Asym and I noticed the ends are different from all the tutorials I've seen for adding whoopie slings. Is this how they've always been? The tutorials are usually for different models.

Anyways, I just looped the whoopies through 3 times then passed everything through the whoopie loop and pulled tight, That should be fine right?
Something to note is that you could put a carabiner though the webbing loop at the end.
Here's some pictures before, and the last one is with whoopie slings attached.

Donna here...ZQ...I have done zipper mods to hundreds of HH hammocks and never saw one wrapped that way. Did you buy it new...or did it have previous owner that might have sewn it that way?

Edit: I'm sitting here working on a zipper mod...and way in the back of my memory...I think I did see one hammock with that wrap....no completely sure. I have recently completed several zipper mods on new HH's, and they all had the original ends.

    Hi all,

Yes they have changed the way that they gather the ends. I'm not sure whether the two 'whipping' methods co-exist, but I'm not a huge fan of the new sewn through method.

My original deep jungle with the two melted through holes is very comfortable, I tried my buddies with the new whip and it just didn't feel the same.

Donna here again...maybe they tried the new end...and went back to the original. Like I noted in post #2...I have seen new HH's, and they all have the original ends.

Has Hennessy changed they way they wrap the hammock ends?

My son's "cub" that he got a few months ago looks like this too. I larks headed a continuous loop thru the webbing and am using a Dutch hook as my attachment/drip line.

Yes It was bought new from MEC, I couldn't see the end of the ridge line so I'd assume it is sewn into the end, so no changing the ridge line. It's pretty bulky too at just over 2 inches wide.
