So I have been on a mission to try all kinds of different setups with the gear I have. I came up with this setup and it seems to work just fine down to at least 20 degrees. I slept in it today this way and it was great!
So here it is....
Clark NX-250 with an emergency blanket down first. Then I have a self inflating pad half way inflated inside the emergency blanket. I found that the emergency blanket acts like an SPE. I then put my USGI MSS green and black bags on top of the pad. The emergency blanket is tied up to the pull handle inside the hammock at the head end. It can also wrap up around the sleep system a bit too.
Anyone else tried something like this? Any thoughts?
