In Oregon it is Value Village, Goodwill is a different type of set up. Yes, they are making a huge amount of money, their CEO, was making so much money the government made him give some of it back. There is also the Salvation Army and the Deseret Shop. All supposedly help people get a new start.

I scrounged up to very high quality vests, three ski jackets and two high quality sleeping bags in the past week. I have more excellent quality down than I know what to do with. I am sure I will come up with more projects.

Some expeditions I find nothing other time I find several things. I go on discount days, which varies between individual stores.

Only a very clean, organized store! I didn't find anything I just couldn't live without...nothing I could use for gear. It was fun looking, though. Thrift stores in SC could take a page out of their book!! I have never been in such a clean thrift store. Plus, everything was very well displayed and not just thrown onto shelves. It was apparent that the employees took pride in their sections. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I even heard the employees who were sorting items in the back room singing and laughing. Very nice environment.

That's so funny because THE NICEST, BEST Goodwill store I've EVER been to (and I've been to MANY!! Been going since high school!!) is in Athens, GA. Something about Georgia thrift stores...Go figure. Oh, well. It was fun looking anyway!

    Now, back to hammocks:
