    Nice work!

My ADD gets the best of me sometimes and I am always pleased to see a less complicated way to the goal. No fuss, no muss.

Sweet detail with the washers to make it easier for those that follow.

Nice to hear you didn't fall down go boom.

Thanks for the simple solution SteelerNation.

Have changed to your washer method where the fender washers sit against the sides of the eyebolt.

I had previously made : A slice of rubber tube around the nut, it made a good snug fit inside the eye.
The nut is slightly thicker than the eyebolt.

Agree it is a fun project.
I think my husband did admit he enjoyed how everything was coming together.

Again, Thanks to all who have contributed ! ! !

I have a question about the button snaps. It appears that you need eight or nine of them (three for each tripod plus two or three for the ridge pole. I've looked on the Grainger website and they look to be around $8 each. That really adds to the cost.

    Am I missing something?

Could I just do without them?

I travel a lot and would love to be able to sleep in my hammock instead of the sometimes sketchy hotel beds I've found myself in.

    I appreciate anyone's input.

You can do without them. My poles fit pretty snug. Could tape them if you're really worried too.

Oops - I didn't click far enough. I thought they were a bit steep! Thank you for pointing that out - it changes my perceived cost considerably! Its a good job I didn't order nine packs of them.

I also found out that Grainger is only 15 miles or so from me (not that it makes a difference really since it doesn't look as if you can just show up there)

Yeah, you could do without them, it's only there for if you are moving them around, you will be fine.

When I called the Grainger order number, I was able to order the part, have it sent free of charge to my local Grainger store, and go and pick it up there and pay with my credit card. I think it was there two days after I ordered it.
