    California>>Pine Valley Ventana Wilderness >>>April 1-3

He everyone! I am planning on heading out to pine valley in Ventana Wilderness Monday April 1-3. Seems like a good place for a hang. Fire pits are present and lots of trees. Looks like some good day hiking opportunities as well.

Anyone interested in meeting up out there? I am planning to stay in the area of Pine Valley camp accessible from the China Camp parking area. Only about a 6 mile hike in with lots of trails.

How's about a link to a site or a map?

Here is a link to a trip report on Pine Valley: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=570547

Here is the link to Ventana Wilderness: http://www.ventanawild.org/

Both have a basic map. I am using the book Hiking and Backpacking in Big Sur and its companion map. So far I have not found a linkable map of the area. I will keep looking.

Wow, after this thread I looked up Pine Valley and Jack English. I would love to get the chance to meet them and, if luck permits, hear some of Jack's stories!
