Yeah, I wasn't going to be there on the hike with you guys, but was going to Hidden Pond. I think the fire might be a bit too close to enjoy camping out there this weekend.

Dang..... That sucks.... This is the only week that I have to hike. After this up coming week I will be back to working, school, and teaching karate... No time for hiking ... I will find something to hike, maybe going south of juniper.
I can't do the weekends, but I am free this entire week. Shockingly, I have a week off law school, so I'm down to do some ONF stuff during the week...just hit me up. I'm in Tampa.

So did anyone go out there? Any reports about the fire? Our local news said it was out. I think a lot of the FL wildfires are set by arsonists. I don't remember so many fires during drought season when I was growing up.
This one looks like it was a campfire from one of the Rainbow gatherings. One of the rangers told me that they had been sighted near where they suspect was the origination point of the fire. I heard early Sunday they had it 90 percent contained, so most likely its out by now. Going out there this upcoming weekend, hopefully its not too bad near the trail.

We did, but went south instead of north. Naha and his coworker are still out there right now; Mrs. FLRider picked me up at Alexander Springs due to work commitments on the morrow. I'll have a trip report hopefully later tonight or tomorrow night. Will update at that point.
