I did something similar, but no where as nice as yours. I simply trimmed an envelope down to about 6 inches of the bottom. I drop my 4 stakes into it, roll up, and secure with a dollar store shoe lace.

    I like yours much better.

I could only find the one size else would love a backpack liner size envelope. I wonder about ups having one...
Ahhh Bosman, you must be a good guy.....pretty sure I used a USPS mail sorter box (plastic cardboardy thing) for years in my garage....

Yeah, that might make it easier. I just made a small incision with a razor blade, then stuck scissors in there, but that might be an extra little insurance, lol.

I would imagine they can come in different sizes, but I don't know for sure.

    And here's what's inside:

Two tree huggers, two toggles, two Dynaglide whoopies, two steel stakes, 4 Ti hook stakes, 4 MSR Groundhog Minis

Yeah, I've heard about that. I think it's a silly rule (law, apparently), especially if you're reusing them. I totally understand if you're just going in and picking up a ton of envelopes and making stuff out of them, but jeez, c'mon. Better than the landfill if you ask me.

but there are so many ideas floating around this place that it could have been somewhere else. If so, glad to see you take to the next level.
Oh, and yes, I do believe that was the one. Edited OP. Thanks!

Kyle, I for one think you made up a cool little setup. If I could sew this idea could be implemented. Maybe double sided tape is the ticket.

Good work! I've made some stuff sacks and a ridgeline organizer out of tyvek. It's pretty easy to work with.

FYI, Fedex envelopes work just as well (same size), but don't carry the heavy penalty of mis-using federal government goods.

Thanks for posting. I will do this soon.

This could hang over a ridgeline for glasses and cell phone etc too.

I think Fed Ex envelopes are better quality than USPS.

I put a strip of corrugated cardboard box in my stake bag and put the stakes between the corrugation. Light weight and keeps stakes from puncturing things.

I threw something together with tyvex home wrap from dutch. I use it for stakes and zing-it. Works great.

And if you don't like the color a black sharpie marker works well on the envelopes. I made a couple of stuff sacks when i was learning to sew. Reused envelopes before i ordered material. Holds up great. Going to have to give this a try sometime.
