UCR for an adjustable Ridge Line

I've been needing to make an adjustable RL ever since I made my first hammock....but instead I made one for my second hammock. Instead of making a whoopie, I made a UCR with 1/2" fixed loops on the ends and length when fully extended about 100". I've made whoopies but this is the first time making a UCR. Very simple to make. I followed TheBrewGuy's instructions for making the fix loops with locked brummels on his "How to make Whoopie Slings" vid and then just made the UCR. This will be so much nicer then the way I've been doing it, which was just a small bowline on one end and a round turn and a few half-hitches on the other with enough tail to allow for adjusting.....works but not the best way to do it.

Well, hung the DIY Parallelogram Hammock and attached the ucr adjustable RL. It's about 115" between knots. Played with different settings for the RL from 96" to 90" and so far find 93" nice. I only spent about 15 minutes playing so 93" might not be the sweet spot. I did find when under a load, the UCR's slipped. That is what I read would happen, so I tied prussicks in the free ends to help stop the UCR from moving.

I am interested in this "parallelogram hammock"! Any links to a post?

Yes, but before I swear by it I wanna try shortening my regular cut DIY hammock to see if there really is a big difference. Let me go to my laptop and I'll send the link.

I've been doing it this way for a while now, it only makes sense. The bury MUST be milked or it will slip, as you found out. A prusik on the short line solves this without the need for multiple prusiks or other knots. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...To-Make-an-UCR

Before that I made a couple whoopie RL's by changing the location of the adjustable loop.

I made the bury 8"...and after setting the length, milked the bury. Still slipped. It may settle down after the "newness" is abraded away but in the mean time I'll continue to use the prussicks.

I put the prussick on the long line first cuz it looked like that was the one slipping. When I have more time I'll do more tests. Tnx for your reply and input.
