Question What to do with poly fiberfill?

I have 6-7 lbs of poly fiberfill and was wondering if there are any uses for it in hammock/camping gear? Any ideas?

Is it the loose stuff or the roll of stuff...

I used the loose stuff to make a pillow... 15" by 7"... Weight is 5oz... Not UL... But nit a back breaker either...

It's the loose stuff. I have a good bit of material. I think I may try some pillows.

You guys may laugh, but I've gotten into a habit at home of sleeping holding a pillow ( it keeps my hands out of the way and from me cutting off circulation to them in my sleep ).. The one I use at home is shaped like a 18" long tootsie roll. I guess I'm regressing to childhood and need my teddy bear .

Long story short, on my last hang on the 2nd night I stuffed 2 pair of thick wool socks in a small compression bag and used that as a sub ( it was roughly half the size of the pillow I use at home ). What I found out was that the wool stuffed bag made a great little device to either hold, or to use at times to stuff in cold spots that developed as I moved around.

It was so handy I had actually thought of getting some poly to make a little 12"-18" tube to keep in the hammock for just that purpose. In the winter it can be a draft tube/cold spot warmer, and in warm weather it can be my faux teddybear. I'll make it out of ACU camo so it will at least look manly.

Dude i can't laugh... My brother who served 3 tours over seas has slept with a small pillow like you say every night... Took it with him on all three tours... He got some grief from the guys in his unit... But hey a man has to have his priorities... We all have some strange quirk somewhere...

I know at least one little monkey that went to the last hang I attended. :-) I am betting that there are many hangers who sleep with similar pillows or items. For those of us who are side or stomach sleepers, it is very comfortable to hug something while sleeping. I'm not ashamed to say I have an assortment of stuffed sleeping buddies. I picked up some camo fleece on clearance today at Hancock. I thought I might try making a few pillows. Perhaps, I might make some roll shaped ones that could be used for this purpose. :-)

As much as I like the factor of replicating the clutch pillow what I really liked was the utility of having it as a draft tube/cold spot cover. I'm tempted to make 2 now. I like the idea of fleece stuffed with poly for this that someone else mentioned.

Make a "Hand Warmer waist Pouch". They are so handy to have when its blistering cold and windy. Use the insulation for the pouch in conjunction with some fleece and some durable material. Ill be making a few soon along side some other diy Projects.

Edit: Also, if you stuff it with enough insulation, it could double as a camp pillow.

I like that. Multi-use makes it even more attractive.
