You should circle the place the tick was with a pen so you can watch your skin. But, take heart. There is extremely little chance of contracting a disease from a tick that was attached to you for less than 24 hours.

I hope your bro-in-law will try hammock camping! Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
Thanks that is a pretty good idea. I have been watching it on a daily basis. My wife is also watching it for me so she has a pretty good idea what we are looking for. I laugh because this tick freaked me out so bad, but as a kid I was constantly in the woods and had more ticks on me than I could keep count of.

My brother in law is more of a conoe down the rive kind of guy than backpacking his idea of camping is bring more gear than you can carry on your back. This includes and old army cot I gave him. Maybe one day.

Nice pictures! I love MCNP for kayak camping along the flood plain. I’ve never done it in the winter so your pictures offered a view I have never seen in the park. With all the leaves off of the trees did you see a lot of wildlife on your trip?

Thanks everyone for the coments I really enjoyed my first trip with the HH. We did see a whole lot of wildlife. We counted 23 deer, 2 turkeys, a chipmunk, and could hear coyotes chattering at night. I was really impressed with this area and the fact you can set up camp anywhere along the flood plain was amazing.

Nice trip report. Loved that hanging spot near the cliffs. After seeing your pictures, I can't wait for spring! Meanwhile, here in Michigan we're awaiting another snowstorm and all the chaos it brings.

    Look at all the trees

Its funny the last time I was in that park I was a ground-dweller and it was about staying dry and a flat spot. Now I look at the first pics a scope out all the perfect trees there were to hang from and not a cloud in the sky. Nice report!

Man I'm licking my chops at these pics. I'm planning a yak-and-hang down The Green sometime in early to Mid May. Looks like a blast. Thanks for sharing.
